initial configuration

yes.

how do i check if my klog server is running or not? do i have to start some windows services for this? If yes, which one??
bharath mallya

At this time klog isn't implemented as a windows service. So, basically, klog is running if you have klog's icon in the notification area of your taskbar.

This is just to handle the receipt of syslog messages, correct? It doesn't generate and forward local syslog errors to other syslog enabled hosts does it?
Aaron

It does to certain extent. It does forward syslog messages received via IP either from local or remote host to the syslog-enabled host of your choice.

I have figured out to install KLOG as a service on windows NT4 server. When my box shuts itself down and automatically reboots, KLOG is running -- but it loses the configuration info I entered (save to file, the file name, the IP address to track, etc.).

How can I configure KLOG to retain my configuration info?

TIA.

the answer is questionable, yet.
Is there a way to setup the initial config rather than prompting for it, or to have it automatically read a config file and apply? I found some of the values in the registry, but only for the window itself. Also, is there a silent install flag in the installer?

Basically I need to remotely install this on about 20 systems and am trying to automate as much as possible.

Thanks
Tim

Is it a keylogger?

No.

Is klog Syslog Server RFC 3195 compliant?
Mick

No, it is not. KLog is older than the said RFC, BTW.
