frequently questioned answers

I am using the Telnet client from my windows XP and everytime i try to connect with something is says "Error while connecting to localhost: Could not open a connection to host on port 23." I am cionnected to the Telnet Server or at least it says i am, what am i doing wrong? Why can't i connect to anything and how do i fix it? I was wondering if this program Kinsole works the same way Telnet does. I mean, is there a program where i can type in an IP address and port and it will actually work?
Zach

If you connect to a reachable machine, running telnet service about any telnet client will more or less actually work.

Are we glad you are so well-informed about our problems!

i'm running this JScript but it seems kinsole doesn't support StdIn, StdOut and StdErr.

j=WScript.CreateObject('WScript.Shell').Exec('kinsole myhost');
WScript.Sleep(10000);
j.StdIn.WriteLine('root');
WScript.Sleep(1000);
j.StdIn.WriteLine('password');
WScript.Sleep(1000);
WScript.StdOut.Write(j.StdOut.ReadAll());
j.StdIn.WriteLine('exit');

i'm i doing something wrong or kinsole can't be used that way?

Yes, KINSole isn't supposed to be used this way, it doesn't use stdin, stdout and stderr.
