frequently questioned answers

existing sets aren't used. if i upload and specify the name of an existing photoset, it creates a duplicate of it and puts it there instead.

I do not see a question here, but yes, I can confirm, it doesn't reuse photoset and the prompt asking for photoset creation is exactly this: Create a new photoset for uploaded photos (cancel if you don't want to create a photoset). I'm not sure what exactly made you state the obvious.

Would it be possible to drag and drop images into emails and blogs in a new version?

I do not have such plans at the moment.

Hi there,

I am quite new to linux so forgive me if this is a stupid question - at the moment my camera tags all my photos as .JPG but your add on does not recognise the capital letters, only .jpg. Is there anything that can be tweaked in your add on so that it will recognise .JPG? I'm running Linpus at the moment.
Annette

The extensions filter is determined by firefox, not fireflix, but yes, i do plan to change it to custom filter, including .JPG.

I'm using the flickr api in another project and want to be able to set the IP or host that fireflix connects with. Is it possible to expose this part of the setup?
matt

Yes, thanks for suggestion, but I'm not sure if I'm going to take care of it anytime soon. Sensible patches are welcome, though.

Hello, nice and useful extension. Is there posibility to search with wildcards? Thanks.
David

I don't think so. The search is done via flickr.photos.search call to flickr web api, so as long as they don't do wildcards search, fireflix doesn't either.

How to change flick id (account) ?

I have a profile for hobbies and another for job. How can i use the twice or choose one, after the other, and so one.

I'm using firefox 2 on ubuntu/linux os.

Thank's for this extension :)

Not sure what is the best way to deal with frequent switching, but to change flickr account or sign off, click the right mouse button on the 'authorization info' area and see your options in popup menu.

You're welcome.

I've been happily using your fireflix extension for FF3 for several weeks and it has worked like a charm, reliably with no glitches. Very useful and easy to use. So thank you, very much appreciated.

Suddenly Fireflix stopped working. Now when I drag and drop any images in exactly same way I did before, they no longer upload successfully. Instead there is a "status: failed" error message in red highlighted in yellow. Near the bottom of the screen it says:
"Component returned failure code: 0x80520001
(NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH)
[nsILocalFile.initWithPath]"

I don't know what this error message means. I can't correlate the new behavior with any obvious cause.

I already tried to uninstall all recently installed FF extensions, and also tried uninstalling fireflix and reinstalling. To no avail as I have not been able to successfully upload even one image for the last week.

Any idea about what this is all about, and how I might remedy this situation? I'd love to get back the fireflix functionality I previously had. Thanks.

Sorry for that previous question -_-;

Upload doesn't seem to work for me - I just get "failed" and a message saying "ucode is nil". Is this a known issue, or is there an obvious reason why this should happen?
