the story
No, it is not about one. That one is the best of all is out of the question. (if you think otherwise, click here). But the problem is one's chemistry. It has an incomplete outer shell. Alone, you rule with an iron fist. But irony is what one lacks. So you need someone. You need some reason to walk out of your room.
You're right, it is about two. For two is not only second
best, but it is the only other positive option. Other than two and
one there is nothing. (what happens if there is more than
two reminds me of the country of Godfighters. When you throw 4
million seeds of instant genius material together — and what comes out of
it.) Plus more than two will always be tempted to choose the worst
one as a leader
.
Anyway, getting back to two — it is your only alternative if you want to create anything. I guess if you went that far there is no need to explain to you how important is uninterrupted communication between the two (and this is what T42 is for.) I just wanted to mention one thing: the resistance of material.
I've just recently realized, that you actually have to spend ninety nine percent of your time doing crap. The question is what's going on with the remaining one percent. Because you can not create all the time. Creation is a miracle — so in order for it to happen you have to lower it's probability down to almost zero (trying to create all the time is like throwing 4 million seeds of instant genius material together — you pass the critical mass and it's gone.) So you simply have to have a daytime job at the patent bureau.
People who are trying to create 24 hours a day are like prophets on a payroll. But I really admire the ones who are able to stop writing desperately needed product for just one percent of their time, and create a software for uninterrupted communication betwen the two. In short, in the middle of hell, to create a miracle. And it is about time.
